Red Dog Poker Casino Game
A breed of it’s own the card game red dog doesn’t really resemble any other form of poker. The game is going through something of a revival in recent years thanks to online casinos. Red Dog Poker can also be known as Yablon and is a variation of acey-duecey or in-between.
Using a standard 52 card pack Red Dog Poker is built around the concept of the “spread” or “distance” between two cards. Players are dealt two cards and then place bets on whether they think a third card’s value will fall between the original two remebrinnf that Aces are high.
If the two cards dealt to the player are consecutive cards (i.e. 5 and 6) then hand is considered a “push” due to there being no spread between the cards. If the two cards are identical, a third card is dealt. If this card matches the original two, the dealer pays out at 11/1.
When there is spread between the two original cards, the spread or difference announced by the dealer and the player has the option of placing an additional bet (up to the amount of the original wager) that the third card will fall between the spread. When dealt, if the third card falls between the spread of the original two cards, the player wins the bet. If the third card matches either of the first two cards, or falls outside the spread, the player loses.
The game may be played with anywhere from one to eight decks, with an increasing number of decks decreasing the edge the house has. This is in contrast with some other casino card games, such as blackjack, where a higher number of decks used will increase the house’s edge.
